Account Alerts & Text Banking

As an Online Banking user, you can set up email notifications or choose to receive text alerts if you prefer this communication method or don't have a date enabled phone. Log into Online Banking to sign up for email and text alerts.

Account Alerts

The following alerts are available:

• An account balance falls below a certain amount
• An account balance goes above a certain amount
• A payment clears that exceeds a certain amount or has a certain check number
• A deposit into your primary account exceeds a certain amount
• A personal message reminder (up to 50 characters) on a periodic basis

Text Banking³

You can also register for the following text notifications to be sent to your phone:

• Your primary account balance every Friday
• Your primary account balance falls below a certain amount
• A payment clears your primary account that exceeds a certain amount
• A deposit into your primary account exceeds a certain amount

Access your account information with the following commands:

• BAL: Returns the balance of your primary account
• BAL ALL: Returns the balances of all savings, checking, and money market accounts.
• LAST: Returns the last five transactions for your primary account
• BAL CHK: Returns the balance of your checking account
• BAL SAV: Returns the balance of your savings account
• TRANS X: Transfer funds from your source account to your primary account (replace X with the dollar amount)
• HELP: Displays the list of available commands
• STOP: Deactivates you from German American’s text banking
