  2. Whether you asked, or are just wondering, thank you! This question gives us an opportunity to tell our valued customers, and those in the communities we serve, about our history.

    Are we a German bank?
No, we are not. German American Bank is American through and through. The bank was organized in 1910 in a community located in the Ohio Valley Region, Jasper, IN. German-American heritage was prominent in this community, as it was throughout much of this geographic region.

German American Bank has grown a lot since 1910, and now we proudly serve culturally diverse communities throughout the entire southern Indiana area, as well as, Shelbyville, Louisville, Owenton, Simpsonville, La Grange, Warsaw, Taylorsville, New Liberty, Mt. Washington, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, Franklin, Owensboro, and Henderson in Kentucky. Today we look at our German American name as a reflection of the traits rooted in our beginning, which we remain true to today: people first, hard work, family, community, integrity, and pride in any community’s heritage with a focus on the future. We believe these values set us apart in 1910 and continue to do so today.

German American Bank has embraced the significance of its heritage-based name and empowers its local teams to celebrate and support the variety of heritages and unique festivals within the local communities served.

Where People, Technology, and Local Come Together in Banking.

From leading-edge banking technology that is continually enhanced to stay abreast of the latest advancements, to local, responsive decision making by a talented team of local financial professionals, German American Bank is the ideal choice for all of your financial needs.
