What we do
German American offers access to quality, affordable housing by creating strong community partnerships with organizations that promote affordability in the communities we serve.   We provide financing to both non-profit and for-profit developers of affordable housing. In addition, we invest both time and money in various non-profit and government organizations with expertise in housing for low- and moderate-income residents.

Who we serve
We’re proud to support vibrant, diverse neighborhoods by providing loans, investments, and services across Kentucky, Indiana, and surrounding states. We work with national, regional, and local real estate developers that build or preserve affordable and workforce housing for low- and moderate-income working families, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and other income-qualified households in our communities. 

Services
German American Affordable Housing finances the construction of rent and income-restricted properties.  Additionally, our team members identify, underwrite, and close loans with abilities to work with capital funding stacks from simple to complex.   Some of the products we provide are:

  • Construction and Equity Bridge Loans (both taxable and tax-exempt)
  • Permanent Loans (both taxable and tax-exempt)
  • Acquisition Loans (with or without minor cap ex)
