Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to all German American Pure Personality Check Cards. If these Terms conflict in any way with your Account Agreement, these Terms control. The Pure Personality Check Card is available to current customers with a checking account. Your Pure Personality Check Card will function like a regular debit card and will be accepted wherever VISA^® debit transactions are accepted.

By requesting a Pure Personality Check Card and submitting an image of your choice, you give German American permission to use the image on the Card and agree to indemnify, defend and hold German American (including directors, officers, employees, partners, affiliates and contractors) harmless from and against any damages, loss, costs, expenses (including court costs and attorney’s fees) incurred by or asserted against German American caused directly or indirectly by the use of the image and this service.

German American reserves the right to add to or modify these Terms and to terminate the Pure Personality Check Card program or Card issued to you, at any time, in its sole discretion.

German American reserves the right to reject any image (includes a photograph) submitted, in our sole and absolute discretion. You may not submit images that are unacceptable, including, but not limited to, the following examples:

• political statements
• advertising, promotional text, slogans, copyrighted or trademarked material* phone numbers, URLs
• brand names or branded products*
• celebrities, athletes, musicians, public figures, etc.*
• MasterCard^®, American Express^®, Discover^® or any other payment brand references
• references to any VISA^® sponsorship property, such as the Olympics or NASCAR
• socially unacceptable groups
• provocative or sexual content, profanity, obscenities or nudity
• violence, firearms, weapons, ammunition, symbols of death, destruction or any other images that do not reflect positively on German American
• alcohol or tobacco
• religious symbols, images and text
• any content that might result in problems at point of sale or interfere with security features of the card
• any content that might infringe, denigrate or dilute the VISA® brand or its member features of the card

If you are ordering a Pure Personality Check Card for a new checking account, the image you wish to be printed on your check card must be uploaded within 48 hours of the account opening in order to match the image with the check card order. If an image is not uploaded within 48 hours of account opening, a standard German American Check Card will be issued to you at no charge.

Renewal cards using the same image are free. There is a $10 fee for each updated image or replacement card. The fee will be deducted from your checking account. If you do not have enough funds to cover the fee(s), your Pure Personality Check Card request will not be processed. For security reasons, your new Pure Personality Check Card has a different expiration date and CVV security code than your existing card. If you have items billed directly to your German American Check Card, you will need to update this information with the biller. You agree to destroy your old Card, once you received your new Pure Personality Check Card and hold German American harmless for any loss as a result of NOT doing so.

If you have not advised German American the month before the renewal date noted on your Card that you wish to submit a new image for the Card, German American will renew your existing Card with the same image.
