Gather important information needed to transition your automatic payments and direct deposits (company name, address, account number, etc.)

Switch your direct deposits
Complete online and print out the Direct Deposit Authorization Change Form for each direct deposit you have set up, such as payroll, dividends, and retirement payments.
Provide the form to your employer's payroll department or office that handles the disbursement of your dividends or retirement payments. (You can contact the Social Security Administration by calling 1-800-333-1795 or visit GoDirect.org to set up direct deposit for Social Security payments.)
Redirect your automatic payments or withdrawals
Complete online and print out the Automatic Payment or Withdrawal Authorization Change Form for each automatic payment or withdrawal you have set up, for example, loan payments, insurance payments, transfers to brokerage or savings accounts, etc.
Close your old bank account(s)
Ensure that all checks and transactions have cleared before you close your account(s).
Complete online and print out the Account Closing Request Form and provide to your old bank to finish the account closing process.
