Faces of Community Banking

Brenda Sermersheim

Cultivating relationships through a passion for agriculture.

Brenda Sermersheim isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.  When faced with a challenge, she's the first to roll up her sleeves and jump right in. Whether she's visiting a client's family farm or speaking at an Extension Crop Day event, Brenda offers genuine advice and counsel to anyone who needs it.  Her desire to see her clients and community prosper is at the root of everything that she does, making her a trusted and respected Agricultural Banker.

Throughout her 40 years  at German American Bank, when she's not in the office helping her clients, you can find her advocating for the agriculture community. She's actively involved locally with Junior Achievement and Future Farmers of America, understanding the importance of giving the next generation the tools they need to prosper. Her passion for education continues in the workplace where she trains and guides new employees on what it means to be a community banker.

Brenda has seen great successes through her efforts, receiving the Supervisor of the Year and most recently the Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence through her role as chair of the Dubois County Soil and Water District.  However, those closest to Brenda know that seeing the successes of her clients and farming family is her biggest reward.
