German American Bank, a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis), awarded TRI-CAP $18,750 in grant funds through the Community Multiplier – Member Match Program.
The $18,750 grant will support TRI-CAP’s efforts to expand and sustain affordable housing opportunities throughout Dubois, Pike, and Warrick counties in Southern Indiana. Funding will strengthen the organization’s capacity to develop and preserve affordable housing, provide down payment assistance to income-qualified homebuyers, and help more individuals and families achieve long-term housing stability.
As a Community Action Agency, TRI-CAP provides comprehensive housing services designed to help low- and moderate-income households work toward successful homeownership and stable housing. These services include HUD-certified housing counseling, homebuyer education, financial literacy, budget and credit counseling, foreclosure prevention counseling, rental counseling, and individualized housing plans.
“We believe strong communities are built through strong partnerships,” said Jay Baker, Regional President at German American Bank. “We are proud to work alongside TRI-CAP and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis to help multiply the impact of our investment and support the work that TRI-CAP is doing for individuals and families in our communities.”
Community Multiplier funding will also strengthen TRI-CAP’s affordable housing development efforts by supporting the operational resources needed to identify development opportunities, coordinate projects, manage compliance requirements, and move affordable housing projects from planning through completion. Combined with expanded down payment assistance and housing education, these efforts will help address the need for safe, quality, and affordable housing in the rural communities TRI-CAP serves.
“German American Bank understands our agency, our needs, and the needs of our community better than anyone,” said Joyce Fleck, Executive Director of TRI-CAP. “We are humbled by their confidence in our ability to make a difference in our local community. Thank you for this investment and our continued partnership!”
The Community Multiplier – Member Match Program is an FHLBank Indianapolis program designed to support targeted affordable housing initiatives that fall outside of its other grant programs.
